This is Patrick. He lives in Malawi and works with Umoja Cards Malawi, who created the greeting cards that came in your Celebrate Box.

Patrick contracted polio at age 3. He soon lost the use of his legs and had to get around by crawling on all fours until he was 13, when he finally got leg braces and was able to start primary school.

Two years ago, Patrick joined Umoja and is now earning three times his former income as a tinsmith. He can send his children to school, pay for better healthcare, and has built a proper brick house with an iron roof for his family, who can now eat meat three times a week.
